I hope you are all doing well. I wanted to take a moment to share several exciting updates happening across Arkay—there is a lot of positive momentum right now, and I’m grateful for the continued dedication each of you brings to our organization.

I am pleased to share that staff raises went into effect on June 1st. You should see the updated pay reflected in your paycheck dated Friday, June 19, 2026.

Thank you for the hard work that made this possible.

We have also officially launched our new database design process, with a kickoff meeting held last week at the PCE Headquarters in Farmington Hills. This initiative will be a significant step forward for Arkay. I would like to recognize James Vierk for his ongoing efforts in developing “Stitches,” which will serve as an important bridge solution as we work toward the full database implementation over the next 10–12 months. The people on the implementation team have been selected from all levels of the organization to be able to give input for data responsibilities and work flows from each position level and program site. The implementation meetings will begin the development process next week with the PCE staff assigned to our build.

Thank you all for your commitment to this process.

Please mark your calendars for the Arkay Annual Carnival, which will be held on Friday, July 17 at our Unity location (27600 Hall Road, Flat Rock). All programming will take place at Unity on that day. We look forward to a fun and engaging event for everyone.

We are also excited to share that the Business Services department, led by Kyra Warda, has been renamed the Employment Services department. This updated name better reflects the team’s focus on supporting individuals in obtaining community-integrated employment. Our job developers will continue expanding opportunities that align with this important mission.

In other exciting news, Arkay has secured a new home. We are in the process of purchasing a building in Wyandotte, just north of downtown, which will serve as our new headquarters and house the Crossings program. We are currently evaluating future plans for the existing Crossings and Unity properties. Please note that Unity will remain at its current location for now.

Finally, I would like to recognize several well-deserved promotions and new team members:

  • James Medaris – Assistant Program Manager, Java Junction

  • Kim Mallinger – Employment Services Coordinator

  • Megan Garcia – Social Media and Marketing Coordinator

  • Ishah Kobaree – Skill Building Supervisor, Crossings

  • Kim Gardner – Skill Building Supervisor, Unity

  • Kolondra Holloway – newly hired as the Skill Building Supervisor, Oakland

Please join me in congratulating each of them on their new roles and welcoming our newest team members.

Thank you all for your continued commitment to Arkay and to the individuals we serve. Your work truly makes a difference every day.

Best regards,

Edward Steinberger, MS
