Musings from the CEO

9/29/26
We had a great parent meeting yesterday afternoon at our new Wyandotte facility. Thank you to Java Junction for the great treats!
I would also like to thank our VP of Operations and Vocational Services Alics Dillard for putting together such an effective and impactful agenda. Additional thanks to Cherie Stangis, Kierra Jones, Monica Martinez, Kyra Warda and Jennifer Dubie for their thoughtful presentations and engagement with our parent group.
Just a few updates. We are about to break ground hopefully in early to mid-October on the ramp to the lower level on the north side of the new Wyandotte building. This will be the largest part of the construction. Then we will be adding offices on the main level and restructuring the space on the lower level. We have a contractor we are working with, and all of the architectural and engineering plans have been completed. My hope is that we will be able to move into the Wyandotte building in early 2027. I would like to hear from everyone about what it should be called. Should we call it Crossings since a lot of our core programming will move there, or should the Crossings name remain at our Eureka location and rename the programming at Wyandotte to something else? Let's make it fun. Send me your thoughts and name suggestions and I will discuss it with our executive team, and we will take the winner out to lunch.
Halloween at Unity is fast approaching. I know our participants will be very excited to attend! It is on Friday, October 30. All Crossings and Unity programming will take place at our Unity location that day. All Crossings and Unity direct service professionals who work directly with our participants will report to Unity on that day unless otherwise instructed by your supervisor.
As we move through the fall and sprint towards the holidays, I want to thank all of you for all you do to make Arkay the amazing organization it is. I feel proud and humbled every single day to work with such dedicated folks. I love this organization and all of the people we work with, and I want you all to know how amazing you all are!
