
Java Junction by Arkay
In FY 2024, we established are very own coffee & sandwich shop in Trenton called “Java Junction by Arkay”. It opened in May of 2024 & is operated by our developmentally disabled consumers. There is a wide variety of coffees & delicious sandwiches to purchase. This truly helps fulfill our mission in providing real-time supported employment to people with disabilities. open Monday through Saturday 8am-4pm!

Assessment and Evaluation
Identification of personal goals, options for employment, individual strengths and interests, and the person's level of skills and experiences provide the framework for planning and implementing "person centered services" chosen by the consumer.
Social and Community Skills Training
Training activities including social skills, options for employment, stamina building, community safety, survival skills, and other individually identified skill areas are provided in various community environments selected by the consumer. Real-work environments are used to facilitate the transition into community employment.
Career Preparation, Exploration, and Employability Skills Training
Training opportunities designed to teach all facets of employment including, job seeking, interview skills, networking, work ethic, job selection, job retention, identification of interests and values, development of career goals, resume writing, arranging transportation, and other skills needed to succeed at work are provided by the agency.
Job Placement Assistance
Assistance in locating and applying for suitable jobs, consultation with employers regarding reasonable accommodations and adaption, accessibility issues, job coaching, personal care assistance, and use of rehabilitation technology are some of the services Arkay provides to enhance job placements.
Senior Activities
Where seniors participate in local senior programs, with supporters, and daily activities planned by Arkay senior programs.
School to Work Partnerships
Individually tailored programs bring students, educators, businesses, parents and the community together to prepare them for employment through skill building and exploration of career interests and options.
Micro Business
Explore options and possibilities of owning your own business or microenterprise through developing a business plan, finding financial support, marketing and bookkeeping.
Respite Care
Respite services are provided to participants unable to care for themselves and are furnished on a short-term basis due to the absence of, or need of relief for, those individuals normally providing services and supports for the participant. Services may be provided in the participant’s home, in the home of another, or a licensed Adult Foster Care facility. Respite does not include the cost of room and board, except when provided as part of respite furnished in a facility approved by MDHHS that is not a private residence.
